Prestige Premium Parrot Blend

I must say we didnt buy the bags here at Northern Parrots but im sure the bags contain the same. And i just want to give a warning since this food has cost me a lot of money in vetenary bills and a lot of worries for our little Caique :-(Our caique started feeling sick and weak 2 months ago(about 3 weeks after buying the food), he had problems breathing and basically looked like something that was about to die. We took him to the vet and they could not really find out what was wrong with him, xrays didnt show anything, and blood test came back negative. In a lack of any other solutions we started him on antibiotics, and this made the guy feel a little better.But after 9 days of treatment the symptoms came back, more test where done again negative, and we started antifungal treatment, again this helped for some time but after a week the little cute and playful guy felt sick yet again.Pretty tired of worring and sometimes staying home from work to stay at his side it finally dawned on me that the food might be to blame, i changed the food, and the day after i had a very happy bird with more energy then i had seen in a long time, at that time we had gone trough 3 different bags of the food, bought at two seperate shops.Not that our caique ate it all, we have another parrot going trought this food aswell.. our other bird didnt show any symptoms but then again he has been avoiding some of the food content of this mix.so in summary this food was not a success story for our little family.

Bought this as a treat for my birds as they are on a nut and fruit diet. they went for this mixture first. To many sunflowers in it for a regular diet but as a treat ideal
