We get asked very regularly which toy will my Budgie enjoy the most? To help answer that question, we’ve put together this handy guide for you.

We’ve outlined some of the most popular Budgie toys in each category to help you find the right one for your Budgie.

Chewable Foraging Toys

Soft chewable toys with space and places to hide reward for your Budgie to find. The Shred & Spin Box is a great example, watch as your bird works their way through all the wrapping to get to their reward.

Reusable Foraging Toys

Provide hours of daily fun. Place materials, food and treats inside and then watch your birds natural foraging instincts take over. The Beaker Sneaker Toy is a great example. How tightly you fasten the laces determines how difficult it is to retrieve them.

Swings and Climbing Toys

Are perfect for active Budgies. They can move around and climb all over them. The Coloured Bendy Ladder can be turned into different shapes for your feathered friend to walk around on whilst boings have long, uneven material to exercise feet and promote lots of exercise through play.

Wood and Rope Toys

Ensure littler beaks don’t miss out on any chewing fun. Chewing on wood helps your Budgie to keep their beak nice and trim. The popular Beaded Triangle has both for beaks to enjoy.

The Popsicle Sticks have layers of coloured lolly sticks to grab your bird’s attention, although they move around as your bird plays, to make the chewing challenge that little bit more stimulating.

Willow and Palm Toys

The Willow Wizard has been a favourite of Budgies for a long time, with all its vine munch balls to chew, pick and preen.

Foot Toys

Have been designed to be lightweight so your Budgie can pick them up and carry them around in their feet or beak.

Woven Paper Sticks are fun to pick, chew and unravel.

The Roll and Ring Foot Toys have a bell inside for added interest. See them and more here.

Coconut and Cactus Toys

Smaller Bird Kabobs (Mini and Standard) are built with agave or cactus wood. It’s excellent for smaller birds to get their beak into.

Bells and Musical Toys

Noise-loving Budgies are sure to adore bells and musical toys.

Teach these chatty birds how to talk with the Mimic Me. Record words and phrases into the machine then it’ll play them back to your bird for them to learn.

Please Note
You’ll know your Parrot best, please choose toys that you feel are suitable for your Budgie's level of destruction. As with anything new it can take some time for your Budgie to accept a new toy. Introduce new toys slowly. Place it some distance away from your Parrot at first, then bring it closer to them as they become more confident.

Always supervise your Budgie during playtime. Regularly maintain toys, especially ropes or fibres. Remove if you feel it poses a hazard to your bird.
