My girl Jaffa is a 23 year old female Moluccan Cockatoo. She has had two homes?first one for her first 14 years and the second for 8 years.

Plus, two lovely safe houses between. She lost her two homes when her humans in both became too ill to give her the care and love she deserved so they made the heartbreaking decision to find her a new home.

Jaffa came to me in Sept 2023 and gave us her trust even on a 5-and-a-half-hour journey home from her last (but lovely) safe house. She was so adorable and trusting though cautious towards us. Then a month later, I became very ill.

One evening we had to call out the paramedics. I was in my recliner chair waiting for the paramedics to arrive, when I felt Jaffa hop onto the back of chair and come round to my right-hand side and then said ?Hello!?.

I managed to look up at her and there she was with an anxious look, holding a piece of bread she had found and trying to feed me. When the paramedics arrived she was on the alert and threatening to attack?bless her. Lady Jaffa was protecting me.

She has since that point, decided I am her human and can be very maternal towards me. She is very kind?if I am upset or crying (usually from remembering my last Moluccan Bilbo), she will immediately be on me snuggling me.

This little feathered girl has put her trust in me and my husband. I am certain she has been very much loved in her life and we are determined that this home will be her final forever home and for a long time.
