We have had lots of brilliant entries for our short story competition and you all made it a very tough choice for us. The standard was very high and it was difficult to decide who won.
However there can only be one winner and first place went to Sara Houston with her lovely story entitled Parrot Line, about Scout the Senegal who turns out to be a very unlikely phone a friend on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?
Sara will receive £100 to spend with us at Northern Parrots. We hope Sara and her Senegal Scout enjoy spending their prize.
We had three excellent runners up stories too. Here they are in no particular order.
Sheryl Wakeman’s story was about an African Grey being adopted by a famous opera singer.
Angelika Hendrick’s amusing story was about a trip to the vets that was very embarrassing for one celebrity.
Natalie Mansell’s story featured a Parrot whose special talents were about to win him thousands of fans on a national TV show.
Sheryl, Angelika and Natalie will receive a pair of tickets to Think Parrots 2015 on June 21st.
We’ll be posting the winning entry and the three runners up stories onto our blog pages and also our Facebook page so you can all enjoy them too.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter, we really enjoyed reading all of them. And well done again to Sara, Sheryl, Angelika and Natalie.
