Say hello to Molly the African Grey

Here is the next instalment in our Meet My Parrot series. This month we’re meeting Molly the African Grey and her owner Clive Wheeler.

Tell us about Molly

Molly was with her previous owner for 13 years but has been with us for two years now. She loves going under our bed whenever she can escape and also likes to join us when we are having our tea, she has the same in her little dish.

She knows when we go away we take out her white cage and she is ready to come with us. She has been up and down the motorway with us and has met the whole family. She likes to be tickled by my wife every night, but I have to leave the room first.

What is Molly’s favourite food?

Molly loves chicken.

Does she have any favourite toys?

Her favourite toy is a pink kong toy, every time she wants to say yes, she clicks it.

Does she have any games they like to play?

Molly likes to play with rolled up paper, and we play catch and singing out loud too.

Does she speak?

Molly speaks a lot, interrupts us in conversation, says hello daddy and help Molly, birdy, bye, see you later, you all right and come on in. If we have a cuddle she goes mmm and makes kissing noises. We have made videos of Molly singing, and she can’t fly, so comes down off her ladder and walks up the hallway singing.
