Good for making toys for larger birds but too big for toys for my small conure. I have used them to make a ladder instead and they are great for this.

The holes are perfect for hiding a sunflower seed, slice of nut or similar, then to make foraging more difficult, hide the dowel stick!

Billy Budgie has taken to chewing her swing dowel, which was fine to begin with, but she left herself with nothing to stand on! I put a hole in either side of one of these dowels and hey presto! new swing. With 16 in a pack she can chew away 'til her heart's content!
