Northern Parrots begun as a pet shop named Northern Pet Centre in 1979.

It wasn’t until 1995 we started selling through our catalogue and 1998 when we began selling online.

Our current managing director, Mike Taylor, started working at the shop in the late 1980’s. It was then we formed Northern Parrots, run from the same shop.

Not long after the first catalogue was published and our tagline, Everything for your Parrot, was created.

The website was originally called 24parrot.com. The name changed to Northern Parrots in 2009.

Pretty soon we began buying the goods you know and love from overseas, Kaytee, Lafeber etc. This was the first time they had been sold in the UK.

As of 2022, we have over 25 staff, large warehouses, offices and of course, Everything for your Parrot, with lots more to come.
