2014 is drawing to a close, so we thought we’d take the opportunity to look back at some of our memorable moments over the past 12 months.
The highlight of the year for everyone at Northern Parrots was the Think Parrots Show 2014. We are the proud sponsors of the show, which was held at Kempton Park Racecourse for the first time to accomodate the numbers of people attending.
There were master classes and talks by the leading Parrot people, including Sally Blanchard, Peter Scott and A World of Wings, who put on an impressive display and gave advice on how to train your Parrot, dozens of stalls selling everything from pellets to jewellery delighted visitors, along with the opportunity to interact with the 50+ Parrots who’d arrived with their companions and so much more.
All the Parrots and their owner had a lovely time and after the success of this year’s event, we look forward to doing it all again in 2015.
Over the years, many renowned Parrot experts have written for our blog pages, and this year Dorothy Schwarz joined our flock of bloggers. She joins Barbara Heidenreich and Rosemary Low in providing you with interesting and information about our feathered friends.
Dot has been fortunate enough to visit the Katala Foundation to see conservation work first hand and we’re delighted she’s shared her experiences with us.
Our customers put pen to paper too. We had an unbelievable response to our Parrot poetry competition and it was great to see so many talented poets out there.
We were privileged to have Barrett Watson visit Northern Parrots over the summer. He brought along some of his birds and Parrots to demonstrate how much fun Parrots can have with our Parrot toys and to sample the delicious Parrot food. You can see the results of the wonderful photography sessions on the blog pages and on our website.
A World of Wings hold impressive displays across the country, and we began sponsoring them and the work they do. They use positive reinforcement techniques to train their birds and encourage others to do the same.
So, that was 2014, but what about 2015? Well, as we said we’ll be sponsoring and attending Think Parrots on June 21st 2015.
There’s lots more exciting plans afoot, so look out for them in the New Year and months to come. But in the meantime we’ll continue to bring you the biggest selection of Parrot food, toys, cages, supplements and accessories than anywhere else online.
What has been your Parrot related highlight of 2014 and what are you hoping for in 2015? Let us know in the comments section below or post on our Facebook page.
