It’s almost time for one of the most anticipated shows of 2018, the Stafford Show.
On Sunday 4th March, hundreds of bird lovers and breeders will descend on Staffordshire Showground to see which high quality birds are available. The majority of the birds are captive bred in the UK, sold by breeders waiting to share their knowledge of aviculture with the delegates.
Any bird lover is welcome to attend the event; it doesn't matter whether you’re a beginner to bird keeping or an expert fancier.
There will be a DEFRA approved vet available at the event to issue health certificates for any birds being exported to other EU countries. The vets, along with the show stewards (who are also approved by DEFRA and the RSPCA) will be inspecting every bird and cage before they go on sale and then throughout the day will be checking on the birds and providing assistance if required.
The event begins at 7.30am and finishes at 3pm. Tickets for the event cost £9.00 on the door and there are full instructions on how to get to the venue on the official website of the show.
If you can’t attend this event, The Parrot Society are holding their Help Bird Keepers Show at the Staffordshire Showground, and these are going to be wonderful events as well.
We have a blog detailing all the Parrot and bird shows that are being held across the country in 2018 check it out here.
