Sarah Ward tells us about her two Quaker Parrots Pickles and Charlie.

                                                                                                                                                                                            Why did you choose a Quaker Parrot?

I choose Quakers because they are easy to train and just lovely little floofy birds that like to cuddle.

                                                                                                                                                                                    What are Pickles and Charlie's favourite food?

The favourite foods are fresh chopped veg and Lafeber's El Paso.

                                                                                                                                                                                        Do they have any favourite toys?

I’m the favourite toy although they like to weave sticks.

                                                                                                                                                                                        Do they have any games they like to play?
Peek a boo has got to be the favourite game to play and hide and seek, Quakers seem to enjoy that. I just put a cover over them and they giggle.

                                                                                                                                                                                       Do they speak?
Both my Quakers talk although one is friendlier than the other. They both like to mimic sounds and words.

                                                                                                                                                                                        Do you have advice for new Parrot owners?
My advice would be think long and hard. Parrots are a lot of work and a big long commitment. Look at behaviour traits and noise levels before buying them. Quakers are noisy needy birds.

That have vey cheeky personalities get into everything and follow you around the house. Shoulder surfing is definitely a great pass time. They are territorial and prone to random acts of aggression when the mood takes them.

They are easy to train to talk and great for smooching ?
