Palm Nuts are an irresistible, nutritious and sweet tasting natural food. They provide good levels of Vitamin E (which enhances the immune system) and magnesium (which aids in nutrient delivery).

Palm Nuts should be stored frozen, to prepare simply remove 1 or 2 at a time and place in a fridge to thaw overnight, or leave out for a period during the day. Then rinse and hand them over to your Parrot.

The high oil content of Palm Nuts means you can refreeze them on receipt without affecting taste or quality.

Please note to ensure freshness we don't normally despatch frozen products the day before a weekend or bank holiday - or outside the UK.

After a few days of not taking any notice, then checking them out for another couple of days, they love them. have not had these parrots long and am learning they take time getting used to anything new. These might seem expensive but they are really good for them and a lovely treat. Happy parrots Cannot fault Northern Parrots service

I tried these for my grey and his eyes were popping out of his head! He absolutely loved them. He is a very fussy eater but took to these immediately. They arrived well packaged and I put them straight in the freezer, no issues with freshness or storage. I would definitely try them again although there is not many in the small bag.

Dont Know

My Parrots: African Grey

Unfortunately when this product arrived last week I didnt read the label thoroughly. The first one I gave him my Amazon he wasnt sure of, so I put them in a plastic tub. Today I got them out to give him another to try and found them all covered in furry mould. Looking on the label it stated to re freeze them as soon as you get them. I do think this information should be in the catalogue and on the on line description so you know autumatically they have to be frozen again, I assumed a container would keep them ok, My mistake for not reading it properly but its not that clear. Ive washed and dried them and rescued some and refrozen them now but dont know if they will be safe for him to eat. Can anyone tell me please.

Northern Parrots: Thanks for taking the time to review. It does say on the website and in the catalogue about keeping them frozen, I'm sorry you missed it, we'll review and see if it needs to be clearer. Unfortunately if furry mould started growing I don't think it would be safe to feed them, sorry for the disappointment.

I tried these recently with both my breeding African Greys and Pet Senegal Parrot and they all thoroughly enjoy these nuts.It is 1 of the few food products that they fight over and do not share with each other.Highly recommended but remember to keep them frozen on arrival and thaw out a few before feeding.

1 KILO great value

I decided to take a gamble & go large.. they go straight into the freezer so no rush to use them up. Cheeks took the large juicy looking Palm nut went straight for the seeds of which there were 2. I picked up the discarded fleshy outer disappointed it was wasted. I scraped off some of the soft pulp & offered it to Cheeks again.. yes success he liked it. Next time I gave him a nut I expected him to discard the outer flesh but he didn't so..sometimes you have to show them what part to eat. Most birds are accustomed to the seeds so go straight for them. If this happens with your bird keep offering the pulp maybe after the seed is finished with or remove the seed & offer the flesh separately YUM!

Nutty treat makes for a nutty parrot

I had been waiting for ages to order these as they seemed to be rarer to find than an honest politician. It was worth the wait as my Grey loves these. He was undecided for the first few, but once he took the plunge he was hooked and they are now a firm favourite. I think that as they are a natural food for them in the wild he loves them that bit more.My biggest worry is that he may suffer serious withdrawal symptoms if the supply dries up again !! Hopefully Northern Parrots will keep the supply lines open.

Defo worth it for larger parrots!

Bought these for my Zon to try as he loves the palm fruit extract.I have to start him off with them by cutting one of the sides slightly, but after that he's away! He will happily sit quietly stripping every bit of the outer part off so he can eat it up.Only the middle bit gets left by him.As soonas he see's me get one of these out the fridge to prepare it he rushed over to his perch and sits quietly waiting for it! Great to use a training reward if you cut small pieces off.It might seem quite expensive which did put me off at first, however you can freeze them, so if you only have one or two parrots you can simply defrost a couple at a time.Bought the small packs last time but this time I will buy the larger packs.

These are fantastic I have never seen my CAG so excited he was trying to rip the bag out of my hands. You pop them in the freezer and take out as many as you need overnight, rinse them with cold water and watch your parrot delight in tucking into them. I love the fact that CAG's have access to these in the wild, it makes me feel I am giving him something he really should have.

Takes some getting used to!

My African Grey, Bobby, wasn't too sure at first and initially ignored the first one I put in his cage. I then cut into it to provide him a place to start. Whan I came home that evening it had been stripped and eaten. He still needs a little encouragement at first but I think he'll take to them more as the days go on. I was wary at first due to the size of the packs but as they can be frozen I thought I'd give them a try, and I'm glad I did.
