As we come to the end of another year it’s time to take a look back at some of the big events that have happened in the life of Northern Parrots this year.
We were thrilled once again to sponsor and attend Think Parrots on June 19th. Held once again at Kempton Park Racecourse, it was another big success with hundreds of people attending. Dot Schwarz reviewed the event in her blog.
The date for next year’s Think Parrots Show, June 11th, has already been confirmed and we look forward to seeing you there.
Closer to home, we extended our opening hours to make it even easier for you to contact us to place your order or answer your questions. We are now open 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays between 10am and 5pm. Previously we were open between 9am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
We’ve had some terrific guest blogs throughout 2016, including two by Mike Simmons, Aidan at Ashleigh Vets telling us about PBFD and Sara Houston explaining how she taught her Senegal Scout to play basketball.
You’ve started telling us all about your Parrot in our Meet My Parrot series. It’s lovely hearing about the different birds. All the Meet My Parrots we receive are considered for inclusion in the catalogue too, so keep sending them into us and you never know, you might see your feathered friend in print.
One of our favourite events to blog about was our Parrot Photoshoot. The Haven Parrot Rescue brought in some of their birds so that we could take pictures of them with our products. This was very successful and you can see pictures of them on our blog and website.
We uploaded more videos onto our website and YouTube channel this year, and we love seeing your videos too, so keep sending them into us.
Other Fun Things
Our friends at the Facebook group Feathered Friends have started answering your Parrot questions for us on a regular basis. Plus, they’ve been working with us on our monthly bird days. Each month we celebrate a different Parrot species with special offers, photographs and a lot more.
After receiving half a ton of wild bear food in error in March 2016, we donated it to The Wildwood Trust and their two bears Geoff and Cai. The bears used to live in difficult conditions in Bulgaria.
It’s been the year of some brilliant competitions too. We’ve had caption competitions, picture competitions and review competitions with excellent prizes like £100 to spend at Northern Parrots and cases of Bucktons food.
2017 is going to be even better, with more new products, more competitions and more choice for you.
Thanks for shopping with us this year, see you in 2017!
