If you’re a Cockatoo owner, you need to get involved in our Northern Parrots Unofficial Cockatoo Day this November 18th. Get involved on social media by using the #CockatooDay so we know you and your Cockatoo are celebrating.
Once again we're teaming up with Feathered Friends on Facebook to bring you this day, and they'll be sharing lovely pictures and blog posts relating to Cockatoos as well.
There are many different species of Cockatoo, and Rosemary Low has written about many of these in her fact sheets. These are Moluccan Cockatoos, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Galahs and Umbrella Cockatoos.
These Parrots have a big stature and even bigger personality, and as a result are one of the most challenging species of Parrot to care for.
If you are the proud owner of a Cockatoo, then treat them on this special day with our brilliant Cockatoo Day offers, running from November 16th to November 22nd inclusive.
You need to be buying your Cockatoo new products all year round though, as these highly intelligent Parrots need to be constantly mentally stimulated. And luckily, we have hundreds of items to choose from.
The best way to prevent your Cockatoo developing birdie boredom is with some new toys. There are lots of varieties to choose from, including foraging toys that encourage your Cockatoo to work for their food, wood and rope toys as Cockatoos can never have enough wood to shred and cardboard and paper toys that are also easily destroyed.
Accessories like hideaways and perches are always well received by Cockatoo’s as well. They give them something extra to interact with, inside and outside their cage.
Having a big enough cage to live in ensures a Cockatoo stays happy too. We have three different styles of cage to choose from, open top, play top and solid top.
There is delicious Cockatoo food that your Cockatoo will find extremely appetising. Reward your Cockatoo with a treat or two, ensure they’re getting all the nutrients they require with our complete food, feed them in a more natural way with our seed or take excellent care of chicks and parents with our breeding and handfeeding food.
Keep your Cockatoo in tip top condition with our supplements, that include vitamins and minerals to add to their diet and treatments and cures for when your Cockatoo becomes unwell.
Don’t forget to use the #CockatooDay to show your support for this very special day and share your pictures below and on our social media pages.
