Busy Birdie Play Perch for Parrots

My cockatiel absolutely loves it! He went to check it out the same day I put it in his cage and he frequently goes back up there to check it out, so now I have bought another one for my other cockatiel, because she is looking kind of jealous. Hopefully she loves it too.

It looks slightly different from the photo. It is flat, sits well on the side of the cage and the perch is more of a dowel perch, it sits well and is ok for playing. Lots of different textures to explore and my cockatiels finally took to it after ignoring it for about two weeks.

This toy is only suitable for small birds at the very least.

My Senegal is kept quite for ages pulling this to bits and sitting on the perch chewing on the plastic rings, he really seems to enjoy pulling it apart and examining the bits he breaks off.

the chewtoys looked great.. but the perch was flimsy and thin and just seemed quite dangerous for a big african grey to be perching on it.. poor quality perch.I think you should advertise it for smaller birds like cockatiels and ringnecks, nothing bigger. OR attach a strong bigger perch to it.

It fixes onto the cage really well, nice and secure. larger than you'd think, plenty to occupy bird. Only one downside - its hard for smaller birds to actually get onto the perch, the shape is round like a paper plate but raised so it doesnt sit flat onto the cage bars which means, if you have a bird like mine; they cant climb from the bars onto it, your bird has to fly and land on the perch which most birds dont like untill they've tested the strength with their beaks. My cockatiel likes to attack it from the top, great as a shredding toy. Another thing is that because of the size, its better placed outside the cage otherwise it takes over the room inside.

It took Storm 3 weeks of gentle coaxing to venture onto the perch and start exploring all the options. Now I can't keep him off it. At first I thought a cheap perch had been supplied but it is more like Kaobb and great for shredding. Although expensive, once items are done you can always add to the basket with parts in the toy making section.I have this on the outside of Storms cage and I would like to see more variations of this sort of toy.This is a big hit for the Tiels with hours of fun to be had.

Our Red Rumped Parakeets totally adore this item , took them a couple of days before they used it and since then they have not really left it - constantly sitting on it chewing all the different things.Even thou its a little bit expensive its certainly one of the best things we have ever bought for them and I will be back to buy another when they have chewed this to pieces.

much larger than i expected and good quality. my cockatiel was a bit hesitant at first (maybe because it's bigger than him) but now he loves it.

I got 2 of these. One is in my Love bird's cage and the other is on the outside of a big empty cage I have so my Rosella and Love bird has something to do when they are out of their cages. The play perch has all my birds favorite chewables on it and even though they haven't used them yet I know that once they get used to them they will have fun. I was surprised at how big they were and just how fun and colorful they look. I'm glad I got them.I think it would be a good idea though to be able to choose a perch size for this toy when buying it because the size of the basket is big enough for bigger birds but the perch isn't. Even my Rosella who is not that big, will have difficulty sitting on it. Or if the perch was just one size bigger. As it is now I would say it's mostly love bird size.

My cockatiel loves this toy. I put this in his cage if we are going out for a few hours to keep him occupied and it certainly does the job. By the time we get back he has pulled all the paper strips out which are lying at the bottom of his cage. I think he would spend all his time on this perch if we left it in his cage. But we do keep it as a treat which makes him love it even more.

I bought this toy for my two cockatiels, both are compulsive shredders :) It's very colourful, and I'd say that it took a week for my boldest bird to try it out for size.The toy consists of a woven plate, through which a low quality perch can be pushed, to screw onto the cage bars. Fixed to the plate by chewable leather thongs, are three differently styled stars. Two are woven palm, and the third comprises a more fibrous material. All are within reach of the perch, ideal for cockatiel sized birds.Fixed to the outside of the plate is a ball of scrunched up fibres, stuffed to the hilt with strands of paper. At the top of the plate is a chain comprising alternating plastic and raffia links. My birds love both of these, already spending hours nibbling on the paper. The raffia links in the chain did not last long, so I've had to fix plastic to plastic links, omitting the broken raffia.The perch seems to be the favourite item for play. It is fairly low quality, but this is to our advantage as it is very simple to shred!Overall, this toy is well worth a go. Every item except the plastic chain links are extremely shreddable, and my birds have had a go at them all. I think that I would be concerned about how long this toy would last with a parrot larger than a cockatiel, but I expect to get another couple of weeks out of it at the least with my two.

i have a orange winged amason, i got this for christmas, i must say it looks ok but i think the perch should be a bit bigger , my parrot finds it difficult to get a grip on the perch, i had to add a larger wider pirch to sit on , i dont think this i a toy for a large bird, it would distroy it in minutes,

Our cockatiel and budgies love it , its so much fun with various activities to keep them occupied and playful. Very good value for money.

This is the best purchase I have made so far for my tiel. He took to it right away, and he usually takes a while to get used to new things. As was previously said, the outer bark is nice and soft which my tiel loves to chew, but once that is gone, the inner bit is nice and hard so it should last a long time after. He also loves playing with the toys attached to it, there's just so much chewing to do all on one perch, which is great. You could probably also use the willow ball to hide treats in, so it could double up as a foraging toy. I can't say anything bad about this perch at all, it's just brilliant fun, and every small bird owner should buy one!

This has been a huge hit with our 2 cockatiels. It is big enough for both of them to be near the chewing stuff and the perch is of a tough wood which should last for years after the toy has been demolished.
