Joan from Joan’s North Wales Parrot Rescue recently contacted us to let us know they are the only Parrot rescue shop in the whole of the UK.

We’ve done some googling ourselves and it seems Joan is right, there doesn’t appear to be any other charity shops with the sole purpose of raising money for Parrots.

Joan’s shop opened on 3rd September 2019. It was a non-profit organisation until Spring 2020, when it registered as a charity shop.

The shop consists of four rooms; DVD, CD, bedding and books room, furniture and kitchen room, ornaments, handmade cards and bric o brac room and finally a clothes room. There is also a selection of second hand cages.

On the walls of the shop there are posters educating people about Parrot food and the dangers of monkey nuts.

The shop is open from 10.30 till 4.30 Monday to Saturday.

They are always looking for volunteers to join them to help at the rescue and at the shop.

They accept donations too.
