Building Trust

Before any training can begin it is vital to establish trust between you and your Parrot.

But that's easier said then done - Parrots are prey animals and who can blame them for being wary of people they don't know.

The key to building trust is to take things slowly, work at your Parrot's pace.

Liz Wilson has lived and worked with Parrots for over 40 years and has put together lots of useful ideas and methods to - gradually - build trust with your Parrot.

Enrichment For Your Parrot

Unlike their wild ancestors our pet Parrots have no need to spend many hours every day foraging for food and avoiding predators.

So we need to keep them occupied before boredom and frustration lead to problems such as excessive screaming and feather plucking.

The term for improving your bird's life in this manner is "enrichment" and Parrot behaviourist Liz Wilson has lots of ideas how to go about it.
