Happy Shiny Lovebird

My Parrots: Lovebird
Superb! Ernest transferred from seed last year to this super fine complete food without too much encouragement, the fine option was a little bulky for him. To begin with we fed it to him as we would a treat and sometimes added a little juice or vegetable water along with anything else healthy. It has become his main staple, with fruit and veg of course and as Ernest does not live in a cage the reduction in mess is much appreciated. It is possible that this is a coincidence but within a few days we noticed how shiny his feathers had become and they have remained this way.

Perfect For Our Cockatiel!

My Parrots: Cockatiel
Our twelve-year-old cockatiel Rocky has been eating Harrisons since he was six months old, on out vets recommendation. In the early days, he started on High Potency Fine and we let him feed from the palm of our hand to encourage him to try it. We removed millet straight away, but did not take away his seed until we were confident he was happy with Harrisons. We have found the Adult Lifetime SUPER Fine is best for cockatiels - the Fine pings out of his beak! Although Harrisons is a complete diet, we give Rocky apple, carrot, broccoli, sweet potato, wholegrain rice, and toast crumbs etc for variety. Rocky emigrated from New Zealand to the UK last year - a long haul flight taking 35 hours in total! Thank you Harrisons for keeping him healthy!

My 4 cockatiels were previously food junkies and were quite picky about which seeds they ate, so not only were they not eating a balanced diet, they mess they made was dreadful! I tried them on Harrisons extra fine and they took to it straight away with much less mess. I still give seeds as an occasional treat though, which they relish. Recommend the EXTRA FINE grade for cockatiels.

Excellent Highest Quality Bird Diet

My Parrots: Budgie
Location: POOLE, United Kingdom
I got my budgie from a breeder 8 and a half years ago. He is larger than most budgies as she bred them for show to be large. It took a difficult week one month in, to transition him from seed diet she had them on to this food which is healthier by most avian vets recommendations. The Harrisons website has good advice on how to switch your pet bird from seed diet to these pellets. You will not enjoy it, but it will be so much better. I was shocked after 8 years, to read that one of the three most common mistakes bird owners make is to keep their bird on the high potency diet. I was doing that because of his frequent moulting and because it made his feathers look healthier, I thought. After reading that I should not have him on high potency unless he is ill or breeding, I switched back to this. He will eat the super fine better than the fine, which he just reduces to powder and leaves in the dish. But thats likely an individual thing. My bird has never ever been really sick in all of his 8 years, thanks to following good advice and giving him a lot of space to fly indoors, plus the healthiest diet and environment I can provide. Our pets are worth the very best. They didnt ask to be domesticated, and we must spend the money to provide the kind of life we ourselves would want if we were a bird, while they give us unlimited love and entertainment. We save, in the long run, from providing the best.

Good First Pellet

Initially I tried my birds on Pretty Bird pellets which are very different to seed in size, smell and appearance. I think they will be much more likely to want to eat just this as their main diet as its almost the same size as seed and is a more natural looking light brown colour. Still in the early stages of introducing them to it, so heres to hoping that they eventually come to accept it!

Great Feeding Option

My Parrots: Budgie
Location: United Kingdom
i bought this because I had read on many forums that pellet foods have more nutritional value than seeds, and I had previously had my 5 year old budgie on a seed and fresh fruit and veg diet, so I felt bad that I had potentially been depriving him of an important part of his diet. I ordered this product, very easily as usual, and it arrived within two days, which I was very impressed with. As for the product, again I am very impressed. You get a very good amount for the price, and it looks just like millet, so my budgie has taken to it immediately. I am currently mixing it with his seeds, and gradually reducing the seed to pellet ratio, so that it is mainly pellets. He still loves his veg, and seems more bright and cheery and happy, he is talking loads more than he used to! Very pleased with this product, would definitely recommend.

EASY TO FEED NO MESS AND NO WASTE!

I decided to put my tiel on this food when I realised that she was stuffing her face on the millett in her seed mix and leaving the rest. It was quite a struggle. I had to give her no option but to eat it. I did find that it helped to change the food dish. I realised that she expected seed in her usual dish and whist she would eat the pellets when she was on my knee, she would not eat it from the dish. A change of dish and she ate every last crumb. I think she is in better condition. Her feathers look better and I am sure that the colour of her feathers is better. Well worth the struggle.

My two budgies just love this food, they accepted it very quickly and now know their mealtimes and let me know when its time to eat - there is minimal waste and they are a picture of health on this high quality complete diet, supplemented with green leafy veg.WIth traditional seed diets they would pick out their favourite seeds and discard the rest so I am relieved they are finally getting a balanced diet.
