Because birds can be intolerant of artificial pesticides, fertilisers and preservatives, Harrison's Bird Foods have developed the first and only 100% Organic bird food.

The ingredients are premium whole grains and are approved for human consumption.

Adult Lifetime is the standard maintenance diet for all Parrots and Parrot like birds (Use High Potency for African Greys and Large Macaws due to their increased nutritional requirements.).

We would recommend a veterinary health check prior to changing your bird's diet.

My Parrots: Jardine
Location: United Kingdom
My vet put my parrot on this comeplete diet due to many vitamin deficiencies from being on a seed diet. The result a diet not suited to my Jardine was feather plucking around his crop area. After many tests and illnesses being ruled out, the vet narrowed the issue down to his diet. Harrisons has been a lifesaver. After the diet change and some supplements initially my parrot is in full health and it shows in his plumage and general wellbeing. This is solely down to harrisons and I cant recommend it highly!

My Parrots: Amazon
Location: LOCKERBIE, Dumfries and Galloway, United Kingdom
When we originally bought this product for our blue fronted amazon, at the advise of our avian vet, he was pretty unimpressed at the prospect of eating it. However, we introduced it to his diet a second time a month or so later, and now he really likes it. Hes developed a wee routine of picking up a pellet, taking it to the water dish, giving it a dunk, and eating. He is some cookie.

My Parrots: Amazon
I bought a packet hoping to ensure a good diet for my Yellow Naped Amazon who likes her fruit but not so many greens. The little madam refuses to eat them. I will persist in offering them to her in the hope she will accept them in her own good time.. Such a diva.

Northern Parrots: Thank you for your comments, it can take a while for Parrots to get used to new foods. You could try mixing it in with her current food gradually, at a ratio of 9:1, then increasing the ratio slowly, and see if that helps.

Casper's choice

We were recommended this product by our vet when we first became Casper's custodians. He was overweight and was in poor condition. The vet is very pleased with his condition now. Although it can be used as a complete diet (and Casper would probably be happy with just this) we give him this in the evenings along with some fresh fruit and he has Hawaiian pasta in the mornings with fresh fruit and veg. He tends to ignore the veg unless it is pea pods. I think he has a sweet beak.

Suprising result with cockatiel.

I wasn't entirely happy with my conures diet. However I was more concerned with my cockatiels diet as she wouldn't touch anything other than dry seed (not even soaked/sprouted) despite years of trying. On a vets advice we removed all her seed as he said she wouldn't allow herself to starve, he was wrong and we had to revert back to giving her seed along with the other stuff we have been trying every day for 5 years to get her to eat.I bought the wrong size and had to break the dry pellets up for them, my fault not a problem with the pellets.Full of doubt, and KNOWING I wouldnt in a million years get my cockatiel to touch the stuff I followed Liz Wilsons article on a week off work so I could monitor them better.I mashed the pellets up with the seed. Loads of seed in the cockatiels mix and a bit less in the conures as he is alot more experimental- neither bird touched a thing. I gave a teaspoonful of plain seed later on because of this.Day 2. didnt touch a thing. Bit of seed again in evening.Day 3, Offered both birds dry pellets in a seperate dish as well. To my huge suprise my 'tiel started picking at it.Day 4, conure still refusing to touch pellets but delicately picking seed out of mash. cockatiel picking very unhappily at pellets but eating enough to reassure me she isn't on a suicide mission again.Day 5-7 Conure eating it happily now, cockatiel eating better when broken down into smaller pieces but still not keen. Think she will be better when I get the right sized pellets. They have been on this about 2 weeks now, Conures feathers looking better but no change to cockatiel. Both still have fresh foods, tidymix sprouting mix and a small amount of seeds but fuss pot cockatiel still wont touch any. Will stick to this product now I've found it, at least I know shes now getting more nutrients.Long review but worth it to say perservere..... If my cockatiel who only ate dry seed for 5 1/2 years after weaning despite being offered a variety of things, on a daily basis, pr

We got fed up with our blue/gold macaw throwing his food out of his bowls so decided to try a completed parrot food. Not only is there much less waste, he seems to really like it, and his feathers and mood have improved after just 2 weeks. He is screaming much less and is much friendlier; he will now come out of his cage to me and not just my husband. This is expensive but i would say worth every penny!! I am now going to order a larger bag!

A parrot life saver

Our grey is so fussy and refused everything we gave him, he had mainly a seed diet. He had really poor feather condition which was gradually getting worse. We took him to a avian specialist vet who said he would die very soon if we did not change his deit. She told us we needed to put him onto Harrisons. After a long winded battle we have finally got him eating Harrisons and what an improvement it has made to his condition! He is also more willing to try fruit and veg which he point blankly refused before! I strongly belive this is a life save for parrot sunflower junkies and reccomended anyone to get their parrot onto this before its too late!

Great Food

Now we know the parrots get a balanced meal, they also get some of the seed nut food but that is now more a special treat. It did require some encouragement, The conure we have when he started his whole personality changed he is now calm, does not scream that much anymore, and became very cuddely, he is not the scared of hands, screechy bird anymore that we got. He did settle on his old diet but since he gets this, he eats his portion in the morning and eats a wee bit of his at night, no more waste either (or very little as with the seed and nut diet)The amazon is not that easy to change but am gave the pallets as a treat first, he loved them slowly changed, he is looking sooooo much better and he is a very happy playfull bird.

Started Gladys on Harrisons Pepper Lifetime, to get her off seeds and I now feed her this as well for a bit of variety - not that she hasn't got enough variety what with the bananas, the apple, the green beans, the lettuce, the peppers, the tomatoes, the corn on the cob, the okra, the chillis......and not forgetting the occasional piece of finger of course.

Stick with it...

After having several health problems we were advised to put Billy on a complete diet rather than seed. As a sunflower seed junkie used to bright & varied food we were quite worried when he literally took one look at the bowl full of nuggets and then glanced to our rabbits litter tray!! Determined to get him to try them we offered him small amounts each day which he faithfully flung out of his bowl one by one for a week. Eventually he picked up a piece that had broken and got a taste of it, his eyes starting pinning and he was acting like he'd just had one of his favourite treats! since then he has really taken to this food, you can tell he enjoys them as rather than having a chomp and moving onto the next thing he takes his time with them nibbling and tasting each bit.He has been on the food just under a month and we already see the difference, his feathers are gorgeous, the yellow in his cheeks particularly and he produces a lot less dander, he also has considerably less pin feathers. This really is a brilliant product for our Amazon, I just wish they would have appealled to the playful side of parrots making them a different colour or shape, the rabbits still give him funny looks when he eats his dinner!!

Getting my Parrot away from Junk Food
23rd February 2010
Rank : Top 250 Reviewer
My African Grey aged 5 had an addiction to sunflower seeds which was not good for his health and wellbeing. He looked at these nuggets with a very sideways look and refused to touch them until I took one and ate it. There was no stopping him after that. He has fresh vegetables and fruit . He is healthy, good natured and a great companion which I attribute to his diet. He has taken to this product fairly easily. I don't mind them either!

This product is a high quality organic complete food for parrots. It is excellent, and my parrot has been eating it for over 6 years. She really enjoys it, and it helps to keep her in very good condition. I do not have to worry that she is getting anything that might be bad for her when she is eating this as all the ingredients are organically grown, pure, and additive free.
