Good Strong Toy

This it suitabe for bigger birds, in being that it is well made and very strong. Its a good toy to help them forage for their food thus keeping them occupied for a while. Only criticism I have is I think the holes are a little too big. I was hoping to be able to put nuts or other larger food items in the toy but they would just keep falling out.

My Parrots: Conure - Small
Location: Colchester, United Kingdom
I wasnt expecting this to be so large. For smaller birds, it is too large to use as a push around treat ball. Instead, for my conures, I have suspended it from a skewer fruit kabob, and filled it with shredded paper and nutriberries, to be used as a foraging toy. They love it.

TOUGH AND HEAVY

I bought this ball to replace a previous different brand ball that my African Grey started to destroy. This ball is very tough and he spends many hours playing with it, however unlike the previous ball he had, this ball is twice the weight and hence he cannot sit and hold it in his hand as he likes doing, so the amusement he gets from this ball is not very much as he can only play with it on the ground, but at least he won't be eating it.

This is study and I found it quite hard to get the threads lined up accurately and do up. However my macaws unscrewed the two halves in less than a minute. It has now gone to my amazon - it has taken him a bit longer but he has now started to undo it as well!

Our Senegal has taken a while to get used to this but it is well made and fun and has kept him busier than some of his other treat puzzles which he can do in no time.

Brilliant!!

This has to be my little Goffins favorite toy, she spends ages chasing it all over the floor or in her cage, I wrap up her treats in paper and then stuff it to the brim with more paper so it takes a good while to get at the goodies! If she really can't get the treat inside she throws it all over the spot!, and as it's pretty tough I think it will last ages!! I will deff buy another if this one dies!!

This keeps my conure busy for ages. The holes are a little on the large side for conure sized treats though so we fill it with shredded paper and put the treats in the middle. We hang the ball on a bird kebab skewer on his playstand and sit and watch while he sings and laughs to himself, delighting in how much mess he gets to make pulling out each individual bit of paper before he can finally reach the treats. The ball is hard to screw back together with all the loose bits of paper but that wouldn't be an issue if you dont use shredded paper. The ball comes apart in 2 halves making it very easy to clean so it would be suitable for some fresh foods too.

Grey kept busy for ages!

Was quite surprised at the size of this, bigger than I expected, but you can put allsorts in it. Incidentally, the holes on mine are not shaped as in the product picture, being the same width throughout. I've put nuts in shells, half walnuts, Nutri Berries, paper, etc, and watched as Jasper figures out how to best get at them, tuning himself inside out sometimes! I hung the ball up - even though he did play with it on the floor - using two quick links and a bit of chain. It has a hole in either end - don't know what the reviewer meant who said you couldn't hang it up! You could also suspend it between two points so it rolls from side to side and round and round. Either way, it works quite well and keeps him occupied for ages - and it withstands a lot of hammer too.

Big buffet ball fans!

What a fabolous foraging idea, I have bought several and use my own skewers to hang them, it allows me to add jazzy beads and all sorts to spice it up.The key is to fill them well, we put millet in the centre but wrap it well in unbleached paper and parts that have fallen of other toys like wooden blocks and wicker balls, the more you add the better!Be aware to leave a path in the middle of the ball so you can get the skewer threw or you won't be able to hang it. you can even just leave them on cage top and hope they don't roll off. They are hours of fun as it spins and slings around and is a great treat for birds regardless of size. Can't wait to get some more!

My African Grey rolls this around on the floor and on her parrot tower. It is quite large and heavy (especially with things inside). If it was slightly smaller it would be ideal. It is an ideal size for a Macaw.

there is no way to attach it to the side of the cage or to hang it up its just a free rolling ball.you can,t put nuts etc in to it as the holes are so big they fall straight back out.unless you fill it with these big chunks or stuff it with paper like in the picture its not much use .i have 13 parrots non play on the bottom of the cage .i don,t want toys on the cage floor anyway as they get dirty.my birds do not go on the floor in the house either as i don,t want them to get accidently trod on .so as you ca,n,t hang it up its not much use unless your bird plays on the ground.
